Topologien des Blicks investigates how AI-supported video surveillance reorganizes visibility in urban space. Using Kottbusser Tor as a case study, the project maps cameras in public space and their fields of view. The installation emerges from research into video surveillance at so-called “crime-affected locations” in Berlin. What consequences does this have for the people who use this space? How does surveillance change when images are not only recorded but algorithmically evaluated?
The work positions itself as a spatial investigation and as a counter-recording of the perspectives through which cameras capture the site.
