then, now and in the future
This course will work in parallel to your main project. Through short exercises, this course will support you in the design development, related to your main project. It will lead you through the design process of 2 / 3D digital modelling by using Rhino and various techniques and methods of visualization. You will be able to visualize various Scenarios of utopian or dystopic situations and fictive spatial scenarios.
The main target of this course is to learn about various methods and techniques of representation through:
2D/3D Digital Modelling
Introduction to Rhino 3D Modelling
Rhino is a 3D modelling tool widely used in product design and architecture. You will learn step-by-step 2D drawings and 3D modelling with various exercises and strategies related to your main project.
You will be learning about Rhino user interface, exploring the various types of curves, surfaces, and solids you can create. You will be learning how to use Rhino‘s primary entities to draw 2D lines, shapes, and curves and model 3D objects, how to edit 2D and 3D geometry and make basic transformations such as scaling, lofting, and sweeping. You will be continuing to work on developing a more detailed 3D model, working on further options to your own design.
Visualization
You will be learning various visualization techniques with a combination of: digital 3D modelling and Photoshop / Photoshop and analogue drawing / digital 3D modelling, V-Ray and Photoshop.
You will be learning about interfaces between softwares: e. g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Cinema 4D and V-Ray; furthermore there will be a integrated workshop with Julian Loscher in Cinema 4D (Rendering and Animation).
