Integrating Colour, Space, and Experience: Learning / Unlearning
Through hands-on exercises, case studies and working concepts, the course approaches colour as a structural element of space. Aiming for an expanded range of colour perception, students will develop an embodied understanding of the conditions for spatialized colour using collage, colour schemes, scale models, and 1:1 constructions.
The approach to colour is psycho-physiological, considering both the physical and sensory perceptual effects of colour as well its psychological and affective nature. Each class provides both conceptual and practical examples for the understanding and application of colour to shape space as well as studio time for experimental exercises that focus on coloured constructions of increasing scale.
